I don't know who wrote it but I really like it...

I don't know who wrote it but I really like it...

Take a man and put him alone,
Put him twelve thousand miles from home.
Empty his heart of all but blood,
Make him live in sand, in mud.
This is the life I have to live,
This the soul to God I give.
You have your parties and drink your beer,
While young men and women are dying over here.
Plant your signs on the White House lawn;
"Lets get out of Iraq".
Use your signs and have your fun,
Then refuse to use a gun.
There's nothing else for you to do,
Then I'm supposed to die for you?
There is one thing that you should know;
And that's where I think you should go!
I'm already here and it's too late.
I've traded all my love for all this hate.
I'll hate you till the day I die.
You made me hear my buddy cry.
I saw his leg and his blood shed,
Then I heard them say, "This one's dead".
It was a large price for him to pay,
To let you live another day.
He had the guts to fight and die,
To keep the freedom you live by.
By his dying, your life he buys,
But who cares if a Soldier dies!

Back in the US... Again...

Life is...  better...  I'm home again and I'm not on
a plane.  ( I never did like flying more than 8 hours at
a time.)  If everything goes the way I want it to go, I should
be back in Iraq.  (NOT Qatar or some other soft deployed spot)

Or, if things really go the way I want them to, I'll be gone for
about a year instead of this 4 to 6 month silliness.

Though, I have to admit, haveing a living space bigger than
10'X10', all to myself, with a bathroom and kitchen in the same
building is a wonderful thing.  ( that and safe drinking water.
not that bottled water is all that bad)

Heros and Villians

Fox News and CNN.  Both websites had, what I think
pix of their Heros on their web sites...

Fox News has a pix of morners visiting the former
President Gerald Ford to pay respect.

CNN has a pix of morners visiting the grave side
of Saddam Hussein.

Very fitting for each news service to pay respect to the leaders
they respect and love.

Great Letter to a Congress Critter

Got this at my email acount at work and I had to share...

//

This is a very well written letter from a
Marine wife written by her husband. God Bless our
troops.

****************************************************

{This was written by my husband, Aaron, who is
currently deployed to Iraq, in defense of a recent
comment made by Senator John Kerry. Pass it along, it
might inspire someone else to speak up! ~ Michelle}

Yesterday John Kerry said, "You know education, if you
make the most of it, you study hard, you do your
homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can
do well, and if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq"

So I wrote him a letter:

I am a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. I
am currently on my second tour in Iraq, a tour in
which I volunteered for. I speak Ar abic and Spanish
and I plan to tackle Persian Farsi soon. I have a
Bachelors and an Associates Degree and between
deployments I am pursuing an M.B.A. In college I was a
member of several academic honor societies, including
the Golden Key Honor Society. I am not unique among
the enlisted troops. Many of my enlisted colleagues
include lawyers, teachers, mechanics, engineers,
musicians and artists just to name a few. You say that
your comments were directed towards the President and
not us. If we were stupid Senator Kerry, we might have
believed you.

I am not a victim of President Bush. I proudly serve
him because he is my Commander and Chief. If it was
you who was President, I would serve you just as
faithfully. I serve America Senator Kerry, and I am
also providing a service to the good people of Iraq. I
have not terrorized them in the middle of the night,
raped them or murdered them as you have accused me of
before. I am doing my part to help them rebuild. My
role is a simple one, but important. You see Senator
Kerry, like it or not, we came here and removed a
tyrant (who terrorized Iraqis in the middle of the
night, and raped them and murdered them). And we have
a responsibility to see to it that another one doesn't
take his place. The people of Iraq are recovering from
an abusive relationship with a terrible government and
it's going to take some time to help them recover from
that. We can't treat this conflict like a microwave
dinner and throw a temper tantrum because we feel like
it's taking too long.

Senator Kerry, you don't have to agree with this war.
You don't have to say nice things about those of us
who choose to make sacrifices for the rights of ev ery
American rather than sit back and simply feel entitled
to it. But please Senator Kerry, if you're going to
call me a stupid murdering rapist, stick by what you
say. Don't tell me that I misunderstood or that you
would never insult a veteran because you're one too.
Having been there and done that does not give you a
free pass to insult me.

My suggestion for you, Senator Kerry, is to remember
that your speeches are recorded, and broadcast to us
simpletons over here. You may want to write down what
you want to say before you say it, maybe have somebody
look at it before you say it and tell you what others
might hear. Remember that we can't read your mind, if
there are any misinterpretations in what you say, it's
because you didn't communicate clearly.

Good luck to you Senator Kerry, if nothing else it's
always entertaining to watch you try and climb out of
the holes that you constantly dig for yourself.

Sincerely,

Somebody who is watching his daughter grow up in
photographs so that you can have the right to say
whatever you want about him.

Deployed Again... soon...

Wonderful news for me... I'm going to be deployed again sometime
soon...  ( Soon sometimes for the  AF is 3 to 5 months...  what with
the paperwork and all)  I wanted to go back to Iraq really badly but
it looks like  that is not going to happen.   But  at least I'm getting
deployed.  At first I was not going anywhere but after alot of
asking and some begging I got placed on a deployment slot.
If all goes well, I will swap my deployment slot that is only 4 months
with someone that is going for 6 months.  ( I am thinking of looking
for someone that is going to be in Iraq for 6 months instead of 4 but
after all the changes I have already made I'm afraid the readiness staff
here will kick the crap out of me...  I've already caused them a lot of
paperwork already...)

Oh well...  there is always 2008

llegal Immigrants Part II

After a lot of though on llegal Immigrants I have to admit,
I really do not blame them.  ( well... the people that are
comeing here for a better life.)  The people I throw the
blame at are the company owners that willingly hire
ilegals and both the Democrats and Republicans
that are doing nothing to solve the problem.

For the first time in about 22 years of voting mostly for the
Republican Party I'm starting to think of dropping my support
for the GOP.  The only reason I can think of for voting for the
Republicans is the Democrats would be the greater evil.

I think the answer to the problem with llegal Immigrants is
an easy on...  take away or at least reduce the supply of
jobs and the demand to cross the border will lower...

I would love to see some major reform in the Mexican Govn but
that is for the Mexican's to work out for themselves...

Lost My Mind... Was Not That Bad...

Well...  I done did it and I  loved it...   in a way, shooting the  500gr rnds
for the .50 cal was  more fun than the 400gr rnds.   ( mostly because
the powder  seemed to be a lot cleaner  for the 500grains rounds than
the 400's.  After 5 rounds with the 400's the cylinder was gunked up
really bad...  there was a lot of carbon from Sat's visit to the range
but not really that bad.)

Sat's visit to the range was really short because we got there about 45mins
before it closed so there was not a whole lot of shooting done...

::brag mode::

I was able to hit a smaller target at the 75 yrd marker with the beast of
a pistol I use...  while I did not hit the paper target, I did hit the small
6 inch wide board the paper target was stapled to...  for me, that is not
too bad really...

New Firearm... again...

Yup...  I went to the gunshop in town to pick up some ammo for a
afternoon of range fun and ended buying another firearm.  To be
somewhat different, I picked up a Marlin 917VS .17 HMR rifle.
With a veddy nice scope that I really like so far.  I loved shooting this
rifle.  Once I get used to using a scope I should get a lot better hitting
the target.  Granted, I got rounds on the paper, just not a lot of them
on the targets that I was aiming at.  And the great thing is that for 50 bucks
I can  buy 200 rounds for the .17cal...  the same amount of cash gets me
about 12 to 20 rounds for the .50 cal handgun depending on the brand
I buy.

I tried out some 300 grain rounds for the .50 cal handgun.  ( it is the
firearm that is in my main pic)  It is a very good one.  Even me, as
bad as my aim is, was able to get at least one or two rounds on
paper at the target I was using at the 100 yard mark.  I did do better
with the 15 yard mark.  The fun part was watching the pound or so of
dirt fly up from the mid range berm.  Which I'm happy to say that while I
did not always hit the target, I at least hit the berm.

The ammo I used for the beast was Hornady 500 S&W 300gr. Evolution.
No kidding...  ammo brand called Evolution.

anyway...

Next to Corbon, this was great ammo...  unlike the 400gr. rounds from
Winchester, it was alot easer to control the handgun and the powder was
vastly cleaner to shoot.  The 400gr really gunked up the gun...
Hornady makes a 400gr and a 500gr round for the 500 S&W...  It looked
very nice sitting on the shelves and I did not want to mess up the shelf with
the act of buying the ammo...

Pop Quiz

Quick Quiz:  Side A places military units in the
middle of civilian populated area and launchs
attacks against Side B. ( Targeting Side B’s
civilian populated area that do not have any
military targets hiding amongst them.)

Side B counter attacks Side A’s military
units and Side A has a large causality rate,
both military and civilian.

Who is wrong?
